The curtain rises Saturday on a holiday tradition almost three decades in the making. More than 100 young dancers from throughout the Tri-Valley will be put on four shows this weekend of “Impressions of the Nutcracker.”
It is the 27th year for the show performed by students of the San Ramon Valley Dance Academy, their third to be held at the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center.
Once again students will bring the familiar strains of Tchaikovsky’s ballet to life. Over the years, the show has evolved from featuring dance academy teachers to an all-student cast from 4-year-olds to high school seniors. (FULL ARTICLE: Monica Lander, Mercury News)
