Around the World, Without Leaving Chicago

Travel is often boring and terrifying in equal measures, which is why we should not do it very much. (Also: it is very expensive and will make you tired.) Thankfully, the city of Chicago is looking out for its residents: the International Voices Project, which opens May 8, offers one play, once every Tuesday night through July 17, at related venues all over town (like, for example, the Swedish play’s at the Swedish American Museum), all of the plays are read in English, and admission is free. Also, there is no travel involved except for maybe getting on the train or in a cab, so you can go and watch a Ukrainian play and still grab an Old Style afterward. Your first destination is Argentina, with Claudio Tolcachir’s Third Wing at Instituto Cervantes on Tuesday night. (FULL ARTICLE: Rebecca Cohen, Chicago Reader)
