As the run-up to the beginning of the 10th annual Art Basel international art show on December 1 continues, it’s worth taking a look at the profound impact that the show has had on Miami’s cultural scene in the past decade. For starters, without Art Basel, the two areas of Miami that have now become the Design District and the Wynwood Art District would likely still be crumbling and rundown; neither district existed in 2001.
