Artaria String Quartet says the music is intimate, powerful and intense.

Two violinists, a violist and a cellist: No Twin Cities foursome is more deeply dedicated to music for that combination than the Artaria String Quartet.

Formed in Boston in 1987 and based in the Twin Cities since 2001, the group performs a season of concerts at Hamline University’s Sundin Music Hall. The quartet also operates a St. Paul school for young string quartets, oversees an annual competition for high-school-age quartets from around the country, (FULL STORY: Rob Hubbard, Pioneer Press)
