Asides: More Rodin sculptures for N.C. art museum

(News Observer staff) Fans of the region’s largest collection of Rodin sculptures won’t want to miss 10 more that went on display Friday at the N.C. Museum of Art. The sculptures are on loan from Iris Cantor, who with her late husband B. Gerald Cantor amassed the largest private collection of Auguste Rodin works in the world.

Two of the pieces are on display in the Rodin Garden, and eight can be seen in the museum’s Rodin Court. Most of the works will be on view for at least two years, though the rare marble sculpture of “Eve” and “Final Study for the Monument to Balzac” have been promised only for at least six months.
