Broadway’s nonprofits are starting to rake in the cash

The shifting nature of the New York theater scene is being felt now in a new and curious way, as more and more, nonprofit theaters are seeing themselves staging financial and critical hits. This new success comes at a price, however; generally speaking, nonprofits stage multiple productions for short runs during a season, and some are beginning to worry that the success of, say, Anything Goes might adversely affect the chances of a new work being produced.
