Cincinnati Ballet’s new version of “The Nutcracker” has some architectural familiarity

A neat little symbiotic relationship is going on between the Cincinnati Ballet and some heavyweights of local business, specifically Great American Insurance Group; the insurance company put up a substantial amount of money toward the ballet’s staging of their new Nutcracker, and in return the Snow Queen’s crown is shaped like the distinctive arch atop the new Great American Tower at Queen City Square. That’s only the most obvious example of the vast amount of corporate sponsorship behind this year’s ballet; on the plus side, this year there will actually be a ballet.
