Cleveland Heights playwright Eric Coble has taken his Alexandra up the hill and over it in the trilogy of plays he’s devoted to her over the last few years, and The Velocity of Autumn is the capstone that seals her fate, finally, as a confused, lonely, angry woman on the verge of 80, blockaded in a brownstone in Brooklyn lest she be forced to enter a nursing home. The Beck Center for the Arts is staging the regional premiere of the play through April 29, with Cleveland stage doyenne Dorothy Silver in the title role. (Andrea Simakis, CLeveland Plain Dealer)
