Dallas Opera’s ‘Magic Flute’ Simulcast Draws 15K to Cowboys Stadium

It’s still not every day that you can say something like, “Fifteen thousand people went to watch an opera at a football stadium the other day,” which they did, in Dallas – fifteen thousand people clustered into Cowboys Stadium on Saturday to see the Dallas Opera’s new staging of the Flute , this on a day when the red-hot Rangers were at home against the Rays and the Mavericks opened their title defense against the Thunder. (Presumably, other things were going on, as well.) And here we thought eight thousand people would be an “excellent turnout” when this was announced in January.
