The Barcelona Ballet’s been roaming around America for a couple of weeks now, having recently stopped off for three days at the New York City Center and done a single night at the Performing Arts Center at Purchase College, and now they’re stretching out a little, heading West, making way for a weekend residency at the Detroit Opera House beginning Friday. The bill begins and ends with Swan Lake, but there’s not too much wrong with that – the company is still led by Angel Corella, he’s dancing Prince Siegfried, and, come on, it’s Swan Lake.
