Dew Drop Jazz Hall Finally Gets New Shoes

The Dew Drop Jazz and Social Hall, just across the Pontchartrain from New Orleans in Mandeville, is a hundred and seventeen years old this year, and it was starting to show it. (“Sag” is such an ugly word.) The Friends of the Dew Drop have things rolling now, though, no pun intended, and the grand old barn’s going to get its piers rebricked and new “footings” beneath them, all of which is a means of shoring the place up and giving it a more tenacious grip. As of now, the concert schedule remains unchanged; repair crews expect to be finished by the time the spring season begins. (FULL ARTICLE: Bob Warren, New Orleans Times-Picayune)
