A potential new wing of the Smithsonian Institution dealing with Latino-American culture has been discussed off and on for years now, and it might be gaining some renewed gravity: Eva Longoria is planning to rally public support for a Congressional bill that would create the National Museum of the American Latino on the National Mall in Washington. It’s worth noting, however, that both Longoria and museum-lobbying chairman Jonathan Yorba were also behind a Los Angeles museum devoted to Mexican Americans that opened in April and has been steadily hemorrhaging money ever since.
