There’s been a lot of ink spilled about New York’s struggling Folk Art Museum in the last year or so; things had gotten so bad for the little place that they wound up having to sell their main building to the MoMA in May. (We won’t say anything about the wisdom of spending a borrowed $32 million on said building.) Much less discussed is the South Street Seaport Museum, whose troubles had gotten so bad that it’s essentially starting over from scratch.
