The paintings of Frida Kahlo can be fairly easily seen in museums around the country, but the Artisphere in Arlington is the first institution to ever mount a show of Frida’s photographs. In large measure, we’re not talking about artistic portraiture here, mostly informal snapshots, but the pictures have never been seen before, and it’s a big enough deal that the Artisphere’s planned a month of Kahlo-related activities while the exhibition’s on display.
