‘Fuddy Meers’ and Funny Mirrors in Covington

Different show. Cool poster.

David Lindsay-Abaire broke his playwright’s cherry in 1999 with Fuddy Meers, about a lady with amnesia and her helpful family. (Everyone dies at the end.) The Artists’ Enterprise Center, the centerpiece of Covington’s arts district, is, interestingly, running their current staging of the play in conjunction with a small gallery show, Funny Mirrors, which is kinda-sorta what the play’s called, “fuddy meers” being the way that the stroked-out Gertie pronounces it in the play. And by “conjunction”, we mean that art by Jeff Casto, Billy Simms and Helena Cline is hung on the walls around the staging area, leaving the audience swimming in art, virtually, surrounded and enveloped by the play and the art and all sorts of vibrant goodness.
