I can hear the caterwauling now: “Man, artists get everything.” Yeah, no. Anyway, the long-awaited Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum expansion is just right now about to open – actually, four minutes ago – and part of the massive renovation, you may have heard, involved the somewhat controversial decision to demolish a carriage house that Gardner herself had designed.
