The Alabama Symphony Orchestra’s search for a new music director continues unabated this weekend, with guest conductor Rory Macdonald (left) assuming the baton for the ASO’s weekend concerts, which will also see Johannes Moser sitting in on Elgar’s Cello Concerto. Macdonald is, like current ASO music director Justin Brown, an alumnus of Cambridge University, a pianist and violinist, and a veteran who’s led a number of other orchestras.
