President Obama copped to having had a crush on Meryl Streep somewhere around the time of The French Lieutenant’s Woman, Neil Diamond thanked Caroline Kennedy for the use of her name, and Stephen Colbert, in customary fashion, used terms like “shred”, “crank” and “rips the knob off” to describe the cello playing of Yo-Yo Ma – the 34th annual Kennedy Center Honors seemingly came off in fine fashion last night.
