MCA Chicago Turns Back to the ’80s

Somehow, we’re still dealing with the legacy of the 1980s. More than thirty years after that plastic, self-absorbed decade dawned, the fallout is still everywhere – brush aside the advances in technology and medicine, in fact, and one can make the case that the 80s never ended. “This Will Have Been: Art, Love and Politics in the 1980s”, the new exhibition up through June 3rd at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, attempts to lay a set of basic parameters around the time, at least, refocusing scrutiny on some of the major artistic movements of the time, especially the balance “between the classical and the radical.” (FULL ARTICLE: Sam Worley, Chicago Reader)
