So, yesterday, Christopher Isherwood was feeling pretty bad about Broadway’s musical offerings this season. Either he’s feeling even more uncomfortable right now, or else he already knew about this Broadway and Vine fund that’s starting up and yesterday was his preemptive strike, because, you see, Broadway and Vine, which was just announced a couple of days ago, is a fund entirely dedicated to facilitating the transfer of movies, of pretty much every sort possible, to the Broadway stage. And when we say “every sort possible”, we are very much not kidding a bit, because the fund’s first film-to-musical transfer is 75% paid for, and it is: The Flamingo Kid. Yes, it is.
