Opera Company of Philadelphia Looks to Stretch Out This Season

The hub around which Philadelphia’s opera world revolves is shaking things up a bit next season – the company is looking into potential collaborations with the Philadelphia Orchestra, whose new music director, Yannick Nezet-Seguin, has made his name as kind of a maverick. Nothing’s firm yet, but the company’s willingness to think outside the box – as with next spring’s staging of The Magic Flute which will be set in the Amazon rain forest – bodes well, it would seem.
