Verbal artist (all right, “spoken-word” artist) and dancer Marc Bamuthi Joseph took his environmentalist hip-hop campaign “Life is Living” to a quartet of American cities in 2009, and, things being what they frequently are in American cities, came back from that tour with the raw material for quite another type of show, something of a meditation on and celebration of black culture in modern-day America, the dialogue-driven piece Red, Black and Green: A Blues.
