“The Air We Breathe”, a new exhibition with its roots in the Prop. 8 controversy, open now at SFMOMA

Three years ago, voters in California passed Proposition 8, which banned same-sex marriage. This may sound surprising, but passing the bill did not, in fact, make the issue go away. The latest volley is The Air We Breathe, a new exhibition recently unveiled at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, which aims to make museum-goers consider the further ramifications of Prop 8 in a space designed for “quiet deliberation.” The show runs at SFMOMA through Feb. 20.
