The Minnesota Opera Has a Director, Finally

The Minnesota Opera has soldiered through for more than a decade without a music director, which is to say directionless, wandering the desert, begging for water and a map. But no longer! Michael Christie, music director of the Phoenix Symphony, former head of the Brooklyn Philharmonic, head of the Colorado Music Festival – yeesh, man, give someone else a chance – has just accepted the position on a permanent basis, following three recent and acclaimed productions with the opera.
