Third Edition of Foggy Bottom’s Public Sculpture Series Gets Underway

Foggy Bottom is – what? Perfectly pleasant, yes, but – the State Department, the Watergate, the Kennedy Center for the Arts. And townhouses. Not, likely, the sort of place that someone who didn’t live there would be inclined to take a stroll through. The Foggy Bottom Association would like to change that, presumably, and so every two years they put together an exhibition of outdoor sculpture that runs through the summer and serves as an enticement to come check out the Bottom, which is the best kind of enticement. Also, and fairly salient, Foggy Bottom is one of the few places left in the city where you can actually have outdoor sculpture, at least of a sort that isn’t a memorial to some eminence. This year’s is up, out, on display until October. Come take a walk. (FULL ARTICLE: Kriston Capps, Washington City Paper)
