Tim Miller Will Not Play Villanova, Says Villanova

Tim Miller was one of the “NEA Four,” a group of provocative performance artists who had their funding pulled in 1990 by NEA chairman John Frohnmayer after Jesse Helms and the Christian Right raised all manner of hell. This is not the sort of controversy we hear much about now – the NEA no longer gives grants to individual artists – but Tim Miller’s still got the power to ruffle some feathers, apparently; Villanova University just told Miller not to bother coming to do the week-long workshop he’d planned.
