Last October, the producers of The Lion King staged an experimental, one-shot adaptation of the show geared to autistic children. The lighting was somewhat subdued, the soundtrack was turned down a bit, and there were quiet areas inside the theater with beanbag chairs, coloring books, and autism experts keeping the peace.
