Type A Takes On TSA at MCA Denver

The Transportation Security Administration has had a much higher profile in the past decade, and for relatively good reason, although it would be fairly easy to make the case that if we really care about our security that much, we’d maybe vet our candidates a little more closely, and start them at a slightly higher salary. (And the 3.4 ounces of liquid thing is starting to get a little old.) With a higher profile comes greater scrutiny, though, and the more something is scrutinized, the more chances there are to poke fun at it, or at least point out its absurdity, and attempt to glean greater meaning from it. Ergo, Brooklyn art group Type A’s upcoming installation “Guarded” at MCA Denver, which “features security guards keeping watch over ‘nearly 30 objects deemed potentially dangerous by the (TSA)'”.
