Vincent van Gogh, sheesh, what must it have been like in his head. We speak here of a man who was terrified by things that also reassured him – in this case, nature, although you could reasonably come up with any number of substitutes. Long term, that was really a shame for the guy, although he at least squeezed some immortal art out of it. Imagine being that tortured and having no artistic talent. Yes, it’s possible.
