Wichita’s Crown Uptown Theatre closed abruptly this past May, not long after being served with a $62,000 lien for unpaid taxes from 2009 and 2010. After a bit of wrangling, Ray and Diane Gans, owners of the Kansas Dance Academy, assumed control of the Crown, and the restructuring is officially complete this weekend, with the opening of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, a stage version of the 1954 Bing Crosby film.
