The Charles is Baltimore’s oldest theater and, fittingly, it has the ambience and feel of a bygone era. Screenings of Hollywood classics like King Kong raise the nostalgia factor, but the Charles shows plenty of new movies, independents, documentaries, and foreign films as well. Cinéastes and Francophiles should take particular note of “La Cinémathéque”, a French cineclub that meets every month to screen a new French film. The Patterson
The Patterson is a favorite haunt for Baltimore filmmakers and people interested in local art. The Creative Alliance MovieMakers Salon, a free forum held the first Monday of every month, gives regional movie makers an opportunity to show their work and get feedback from the audience.
