Denver Chalk Art Festival Looking for Sponsors and Artists

It’s that time of year again – the Larimer Arts Association is in the planning stages for this year’s Chalk Art Festival. Each June, over 200 local artists spend two days transforming downtown Larimer Square into a colossal work of art. Not only that, but the event features live music from 11:30 in the morning to 9:30 in the evening, wine tasting, local microbrews, and the opportunity for children and parents to create their own sidewalk masterpieces.

And, if you’re a Denver artist, they want you to apply for a square of sidewalk! (Chalk is provided, although they recommend bringing your own if you’re going to need a large amount of any single color.) The festival is looking for artists at all levels of ability, so don’t worry if you’re not a professional. All they need is your contact information, some samples of your work, and a sketch and description of your proposed “street painting” for the festival. Entries are being accepted through March 15, with final notification of acceptance on April 1.

If you’re not artistically inclined, the festival is also looking for sponsors for individual artists. It’s a great opportunity to support the Denver art community and your company’s name in front of a large audience. Current sponsors include the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District, the Denver Art Museum, Blue Moon Brewery, and AOR.

This year’s Denver Chalk Art Festival is scheduled for June 2-3, starting at 10am each day. Mark it on your calendar – it’s not an event you’ll want to miss.
