Visit Hot Shops this Saturday from 6:00-9:00 to check out some art from nominees for the 2012 Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards. While not all nominees will be on display, you can’t go wrong when visiting Hot Shops. Finding inspirational art at Hot Shops is a given.
The Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards is an annual event that recognizes local artists in a variety of mediums. Visual artists are just the tip of the iceberg with these awards, as musicians and other performers are also recognized. Your favorite local slam poet might be a nominee, or perhaps the dancer who impressed you in a ballet performance is included as a nominee. The show at Hot Shops highlights the visual artists nominated for awards.
Nominations came from voters online. Did your favorite Omaha artist make the cut for the final list? View the list of nominees here.
Hot Shops will offer admission to this event free of charge. Remember: This isn’t the actual awards ceremony, but it’s a great way to get a look at why the nominated artists have such impressive reputations around Omaha. If you can’t make it to the opening reception this Saturday, you have until the 28th to visit Hot Shops to see the show.
