One of the hottest tickets of the season in Miami each year is Art Basel. This year’s events will feature Superstar Chef Michelle Bernstein’s two pop up Art Basel eateries, Michy’s Pop Up and Garden Café. Food is a form of art for famed Miami Chef, Michelle Bernstein, and her foodie fans know this. Lucky for all, she is “popping up” again this year for seven nights during Art Basel. Chef Bernstein’s concepts offer a wide range of delicious options in the Botanical Garden, steps away from the Miami Beach Convention Center. Throughout the day, Art Basel attendees can grab a quick, healthy lunch at her Garden Cafe, situated in a beautiful lush setting. For a more refined meal, guests can make a dinner reservation at Chef Bernstein’s exclusive Michy’s Pop Up restaurant or book a private event as she is offering catering opportunities for groups of six or more.
Michy’s Pop Up restaurant will be a four-night dinner experience and Chef Bernstein will incorporate her signature South Floridian influence, utilizing freshly harvested ingredients. She will offer a diverse selection of light and appetizing tapas, starters, plats de resistance and desserts. Guests can expect to find on the menu some of her distinguished dishes from her famed Michy’s restaurant in Miami’s MiMo district. A premium bar and an impressive international wine list have been paired perfectly to compliment the menu. Reservations are a must as the restaurant will only be open from Wednesday, December 3 to Saturday, December 6 from 6 – 11 p.m. in the Botanical Garden’s Banyan Room and its adjacent terrace.
For private events during Art Basel, Chef Bernstein will offer exclusive catering opportunities for groups ranging from 6 to 100 in private or semi-private indoor or outdoor areas. From seated lunches and dinners to intimate tea parties and cocktails, Bernstein’s team will provide custom menus and set-ups, tailored to each group’s needs.
At Chef Bernstein’s more casual concept, the Garden Cafe, Art Basel attendees can take a mid-day break to enjoy a delicious and healthy lunch in the lush gardens. The diverse menu is comprised from locally sourced organic ingredients and includes tasty salads, sandwiches and special daily grilled dishes. Gourmet coffee and fresh baked pastries will be available and patrons can choose to be seated or grab a bite to go. No reservations are required. The cafe will be open on Monday, December 1 (1 p.m. – 6 p.m.); Tuesday, December 2 (10 a.m. – 6 p.m.); Wednesday, December 3 (10 a.m. – 8 p.m.); Thursday – Saturday, December 4th – 6th (10 a.m. – 8 p.m.) and Sunday, December 7 (10 a.m. – 6 p.m.).
While Michy’s Pop Up restaurant will be more refined than the Garden Cafe concept, each menu will offer patrons a taste of Chef Bernstein’s ever-creative and flavorful fare. Here is a selection of some featured menu items [photos available upon request]:
- Starters: Salad of Honey Roast Pears and Shaved Raw Pears, arugula, endive, shaved manchego, chervil, chives, parsley
