Anything Goes

The national tour of the new Broadway revival of Cole Porter’s 1934 classic musical, Anything Goes, will make its Fort Lauderdale premiere Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at The Broward Center for the Performing Arts for a limited two week run. Anything Goes features music and lyrics by Cole Porter; original book by P.G. Wodehouse & Guy Bolton and Howard Lindsay & Russel Crouse; and new book by Timothy Crouse and John Weidman.  Winner of the 2011 Tony Award® for Best Revival of a Musical, Anything Goes sails to The Broward Center for the Performing Arts under the direction of Sean McKnight and Jennifer Savelli. McKnight and Savelli will recreate the original direction and choreography by Kathleen Marshall, who won the 2011 Tony Award® for Best Choreography.

When the S.S. American heads out to sea, etiquette and convention get tossed out the portholes as two unlikely pairs set off on the course to true love…proving that sometimes destiny needs a little help from a crew of singing sailors, an exotic disguise and some good old-fashioned blackmail. Peppering this timeless classic are some of musical theatre’s most memorable standards, including “I Get a Kick Out of You,” “You’re the Top,” and of course, “Anything Goes.”

All aboard for this saucy and splendid production of Anything Goes, winner of three 2011 Tony® Awards including Best Musical Revival and Choreography!. This production is sponsored by Broadway Across America and Florida Theatrical Association, in partnership with The Broward Center for the Performing Arts. The Broadway in Fort Lauderdale 2014-2015 subscription season is made possible with the generous support of Bank of America and is presented by Florida Theatrical Association, Broadway Across America and Broward Center for the Performing Arts.  Anything Goes is produced by NETworks Presentations.  For more information, visit www.anythinggoesthemusical.com
