BaCA Announces New Summer Arts Camps

Located in the heart of Pompano Beach’s new Creative Arts District, we encourage you to visit Bailey Contemporary Arts located one block north of Atlantic Boulevard. At the BaCA in Pompano Beach, Fla., emerging artists work with innovative art thinkers from across the globe to create cutting-edge art. Children and their parents take workshops on playing musical instruments and learning to make contemporary art of their own, all just a few blocks from their homes. Art enthusiasts visit to explore inspiring exhibitions made by up-and-coming artists from across the region. Take a class, attend a lecture, and see an exhibition. Learn how professional artists work. Find out for yourself how the arts can enhance your life.

The newly renovated BaCA is a place for artists, residents and businesses to come together and use the power of the arts to uplift, revitalize and build a stronger community. We pride ourselves as being a thriving neighborhood center abuzz with music, arts and cultural activity for people of all backgrounds and ages to take part in. Their center offers the experience of pairing new artists with established professionals to create a unique environment where their collaboration produces artistic innovation and excellence. Their center also provides the opportunity for residents to explore their creative expression through an array of workshops, studio visits, and exhibitions.

BaCA camps are like no other! Have your student discover their talents and find ways to share them with the world! All campers work toward staging a final performance for family and friends, designed to showcase their many talents and hard work. We’re talking full production — costumes, makeup, lights, sounds and sets. With our highly qualified teaching artists and small class sizes, you can be assured the students will receive a phenomenal arts education.

THE STUDIO at BaCA summer camp will consist of three sessions. Each session is three weeks in length with classes running from 9am-3pm. Before and aftercare available.  During camp, students will select a “focus studio” depending on their area of interest. Each day, campers will spend three hours training in their selected area. They will also explore other performing and visual arts on a rotating schedule. Each session will culminate in an original show centering around the camp’s instructional theme. Led by the director of education and teaching artists, campers will present a 45-minute performance highlighting what they’ve learned.  Students are asked to bring a sack lunch and a healthy snack, as meals are NOT provided. Tuition for each camp session is $450. Before care from 8am-9am is $25/week – after care until 6pm is $35/week. Generous scholarships and payment plans are available.
