Music! Music! Music!

Greatest Music of the 1950s

The Plaza Theatre brings the greatest hits of the 1950’s to South Florida with their upcoming musical revue Music! Music! Music! April 13th – 29th. It was the end of World War II, the beginning of the Baby Boom, and a time of innocence and prosperity. It was also a time of great music! Featuring the best of the “bubble gum pop” music of the time, Music! Music! Music! will take you back to the good ‘ole days with hits such as “Mr. Sandman”, “Rags To Riches”, “How Much Is That Doggie In The Window?”, “Glowworm”, “Unforgettable”, “April Love”, “Fever”, “Blues In The Night” and many more.

Music! Muisc! Music! will be appearing at the Plaza Theatre on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from April 13 – 29, 2012. Friday and Saturday shows will begin nightly at 7:30 p.m. A matinee performance is also available at 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets for all shows are $42. The Plaza Theatre is located in the Plaza del Mar, at 262 S. Ocean Blvd., in Manalapan, Florida. It is a 252-seat, not-for-profit theatre, employing local and non-local actors and actresses. The Plaza Theatre, a not-for-profit 250-seat theatre, is home to a variety of musicals, musical revues, and light-hearted shows, with an occasional gripping drama, sure to please every show-goer. They also feature an active educational conservatory offering private lessons, classes and shows for students age 7 – 18. Stay tuned for their upcoming middle-high school student production of Grease in June! For more information, or to purchase tickets, please call (561) 588-1820 or visit

  1. Joan Greenberg says:

Glad that the Manalapan theater will come alive again, however $42 per ticket during the introductory period is a bit steep. The shows have not yet been reviewed and there are no well known names listed for any of the performances.

At $25 per ticket, my husband and I might take a chance.

We attended many of the performances at the Florida Stage, including several musical reviews, and thoroughly enjoyed them.
We wish you success in this venture!

    • Thank you for your response. We actually were favorably reviewed by several papers for our opening show with Donna McKechnie, Tony Award winning star of A Chorus Line, as well as our jukebox musical Breaking Up Is Hard To Do. Considering that the other professional theatres in Palm Beach County charge over $55 and up for their single tickets, plus processing fees, we are charging a fair price for our tickets. There are even student conservatories that charge $30 for tickets. We do have group rates for 10 – 19 and 20 or more, from $32-$36. You won’t find any other resident professional theatre in Palm Beach County with pricing even close to ours. I think if you come, you’ll see some exceptional talent and then change your opinion.

    • We are so glad that you are interested in supporting the Plaza Theatre! In order to help loyal Arts of America blog readers attend our current show, MUSIC! MUSIC! MUSIC!, which runs through April 29, we are offering them the group discount of $32 per ticket, which is normally reserved for groups of 20 or more. Please call our box office today at (561) 588-1820 and give them the code ARTS AMERICA to purchase your discounted tickets at the $32 price. We’ll look forward to hearing from you, Mr. and Mrs. Greenberg and Mr. Fox, and to seeing you as regular patrons of the Plaza Theatre!

  2. Bernie Fox says:

I agree with the Greenbergs. Those of us on fixed incomes find $42 out of our range. You offer deep discounts to students, how about something for senior citizens?

  3. Alan Jacobson says:

By the way, we just got two rave reviews on our current show Music Music Music in Around Town and the Condo News. Check them out online!
