Robert Cuccioli Stars in Song of Solomon

The Wick Theatre and Drew Tucker are proud to present the Florida premier of Song of Solomon starring Tony nominee Robert Cuccioli. The musical written by Andrew Beall and Neil Van Leeuwen, is Broadway bound, and The Wick will host a concert staging of the show which has been called “an incredible feat of epic storytelling,” “instantly captivating.”  The one-night only event takes place Monday, January 19th at 7:30 pm.

Song of Solomon  is powerful love story about a young orphan girl in the time of Ancient Israel who captures the heart of King Solomon, with her beauty, intelligence and brutal honesty. King Solomon’s wisdom is at the core of Solomon’s being and he will no more deny the wisdom of his heart than deny the same wisdom that made him such a powerful and respected ruler. When his best friend learns that he is wrestling with choosing love over politics it unleashes conflicts and betrayals amongst his most trusted advisors. And with Israel on the break of war, the lives of millions, including Soloman and Almah, his true love, hangs in the balance.

Andrew Baell, the composer, is a veteran Broadway musician who has performed in the great Broadway musical Les Miserables, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder and The Lion King. Avery Fisher Hall (Lincoln Center) hosted the world premiere of the composer/percussionist’s second major orchestral work: Affirmation, concerto for solo percussion and orchestra. Among others, the U.S. Navy Band (DC) has performed the concert band adaptation.  The Erato Chamber Orchestra premiered his Song of ‘Almah’ for marimba/soprano/strings at the Chicago Cultural Center. Thanks to the encouragement of those who witnessed the beauty of this piece, Baell expanded upon the theme and created  Song of Solomon, a musical with fresh and traditional sounds which seamlessly incorporates classical, middle-eastern, Latin and traditional Broadway styles.

Tickets for this one-night-only event at the Wick Theatre are $40. The Wick Theatre & Costume Museum is located at 7901 N. Federal Highway in Boca Raton, Florida.
