Skin Deep

Fresh Pages at the Plaza Theatre will present a staged reading of Rich Orloff’s Skin Deep on Monday, January 27th @ 7:30PMBilled as “a comedy without tan lines” Skin Deep is a light comedy with depth, a sex comedy with more than sex on its mind.  Warning! This play contains rampant off-stage nudity!

When a couple from Ohio inherits a clothing-optional resort in Key West, they discover parts of themselves never before exposed!  The staff includes a gay front desk clerk who’s an aspiring drag queen and a lesbian handyman who moonlights as a dominatrix.  And then there’s the potential buyer of the hotel, a businessman who likes giving women he business.  Overwhelmed by the lifestyles of the resort’s staff and guests, the couple is forced to face questions of what they believe and who they really are.

The play features: Clay Cartland, Patti Gardner, Irene Adjan, David Nail & John Lariviere and is directed by Kenneth Kay. Show Business Weekly wrote, “The greatest strength of Skin Deep is its ability to explore actual topics of substance, from sex roles in society to social roles in marriage, in a buoyant comedic framework.”

Skin Deep will appear at the Plaza Theatre February 27, 2014 at 7:30.  Tickets for this event are only $10.  Show times for most productions are Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday at 2:00pm, and Thursday, Friday & Saturday at 7:30 pm. Tickets start at $45.  Now in its second season, the Plaza Theatre is a professional, non-profit 250 seat theatre hiring local and out of town Equity and non-Equity actors and actresses.  This award nominated Plaza Theatre produces a variety of light-hearted shows with an occasional gripping drama.
