Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding returns to the Abdo New River Room at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts Thursday, February 12 – Sunday, February 22. In this worldwide hit, Tony and Tina have walked down the aisle more than 3,300 times, in front of more than 500,000 guests and continue to make every wedding a one-of-a-kind event, filled with great music, laughter, food and love.

Tony and Tina, along with their colorful and madcap Italian-American families, tie the knot as audiences join in the wild and wacky wedding reception enjoying an Italian dinner, drinking champagne, eating wedding cake and dancing with the wedding party.

The best man is a drug dealer, the maid of honor is pregnant, the groom’s father just showed up with a stripper as his date and the wedding guests, well, they could be just about anyone.  By blurring the line between fantasy and reality, the show works its magic and draws the audience into eating, drinking, dancing and conversing just as they would at a real wedding.  Participants experience the surprises and drama as they are caught up in the celebration partying along with the rest of Tony and Tina’s family and friends as if they’ve known them for years.

Called “One of the most successful and imaginative hits in history,” by the New York Daily News, Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding opened originally in 1988 Off-Broadway and became the longest running Off-Broadway comedy.  Revived in New York City as recently as last year, the interactive hit has won over the hearts of thousands of people with extended runs and worldwide success in more than 100 cities across the U.S., Europe, Japan and Australia.

In the Abdo New River Room’s newly designed cabaret-style space, guests will be seated at tables with the cast seated throughout the room. The theater’s small plate menu will be replaced by an Italian dinner for the wedding reception.  This production contains adult language and subject matter. Tickets to the interactive comedy are $65 and include dinner, champagne toast and wedding cake.  Performances are Thursday, February 12 through Sunday, February 22 with shows Thursday through Friday at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 1 and 7 p.m. and Sundays at 1 and 6 p.m.
