Imagine a world where in order to “undo” the tying of the matrimonial knot, the ceremony has to be re-enacted … in reverse. Playwright Holly Arsenault creates such a world of divorce drama in her dramedy, Undo.  Joe and Rachel Pfeiffer are getting divorced by running their wedding, in all its details, backwards. The exception? Instead of food, there’s liquor, and all things spill out!

Candace Caplin, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Parade Poductions says, “The playwright, a Gentile who is married to a Jew, deliberately chose to make the divorce ceremony Jewish.  Her thinking was that Jews are about family, community, ritual, and tradition – as is the play.”

Playwright Holly Arsenault adds, “There’s a serendipity that borders on spookiness due to the fact that Undo will have its second production in Boca Raton. I dedicated the play to my three grandmothers, one of whom, Hinda Wachtel, lived in Boca Raton the last 30 years of her life. She never got to see the play, but she loved theatre and, as I wrote the play, I was always thinking about what would make her laugh. So, it makes me feel really good to know that people in her community will get to see the play and laugh at these jokes that I wrote for her.”

Directed by Kim St. Leon, Undo will feature Candace Caplin, Todd Bruno, Ann Marie Olson, Michael Gioia, Ben Sandomir and Carbonell – Award winning actress Margot Moreland.  Parade’s Artistic Director St. Leon declares, “What drew me to Undo is that it is the ultimate ‘conscious uncoupling’ with lies, truths, love, sex, revelations, laughter and grief during one big ceremony. What more could any director want!”

Undo opens January 29th and runs through March 1st, 2015 with performances Thursday through Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 3 p.m. Ticket prices are $35 ($30 for groups of 15 or more).
