Zoetic Stage’s ‘Moscow’ Debuts at the Adrienne Arsht Center

Zoetic Stage presents the world premiere of the play Moscow by Michael McKeever at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County March 29 – April 15, 2012. Set in Miami in 1962, the members of a once prominent South Florida family find their world challenged by the life-changing events of the era. The Kennedy assassination, the Cold War and the sudden influx of Cubans to Miami set the stage for an all out showdown as past, present, east and west all collide in this comic look at how we got to where we are today.
Playwright Michael McKeever has been honored with an NEA Residency Grant (New Theatre, Miami) and has been a 3-time finalist for Humana Fest’s nationally renowned Heideman Award. He is the proud recipient of three Carbonell Awards, four Curtain Up Awards, and two Florida Individual Artist Fellowships. He has been a finalist several times at both the Key West Theatre Festival and the Sarasota Festival of New Plays. He is also an award-winning actor and designer. He resides in South Florida and is a member of the Dramatists Guild and Actors’ Equity. His other most recent plays include South Beach Babylon and Melt.
Zoetic Stage’s mission is to produce a repertoire of plays spanning a variety of styles and cultures. The company goal is to develop new plays and musicals, and to approach existing work that reflects the South Florida community but resonates universally. They emphasize developing and producing work that may become a part of the American stage repertoire. Zoetic Stage prides itself on being a collaborative artistic ensemble of directors, actors, playwrights, musicians and designers; and is a proud Arts Partner with the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County.

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County is located at 1300 N. Biscayne Blvd., Miami, Florida, and houses the 2,400 seat Sanford and Dolores Ziff Ballet Opera House, as well as the 2,200 seat John S. and James L.
