If you’re looking to get your hands on some great art for your own collection you need to mark Friday, June 8th on your calendar. The Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts hosts its $100 Art Sale for BemisUNDERGROUND from 7-9 PM.

The art offered for sale is from artists all over the place, but the proceeds from the sale benefit the local art scene here in Omaha. You might also score a work of art in the raffle by purchasing a $10 ticket. Add this modest raffle ticket cost to the low entry fee of $10, and you can potentially find a conversation piece that has a great story behind it for only $20. That’s absurd in the very best way.

Is this event a big deal? You bet it is. The Bemis website states that a line started forming for last year’s $100 Art Sale at 9 AM. That means people camped out all day just to get inside and have a look at the art for sale. This is all original art too, so once it’s gone, it’s gone. It’s no wonder Omaha art lovers wanted to be the first people through the door – they didn’t want to see someone else walk away with all the good stuff.
