The Season of Dance Parties Continues With FULL BLOOM

The coming of spring in Pittsburgh triggers a few distinct events. First, there is the flooding of the city with attendees of college graduations. Then there is the emptying of the city as students leave for their hometowns. And when the Pittsburgh natives come out of their winter hiding places, it is time to dance.

Spring, favored by many arts organizations in the area for benefit events concludes with a series of elaborate dance parties. Perhaps the best known is Attack Theatre‘s Dirty Ball. If you weren’t in town this May, you already missed it. But for those of you who are interested in coming next year, this year’s “The Dirty Ball Toolbox” featured, “DJs (J. Malls and Gordy G from Title Town), performances, dancers, art installations, fashion, libations, fare, frivolity,” according to Attack’s website.

Another notable benefit is The Kelly-Strayhorn Theater‘s FULL BLOOM Summer Dance Party. The event features, “a night full of dancing, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, performances and more,” according to KST’s website. DJ Kalkutta, who performed in Pittsburgh earlier this year, will be featured. FULL BLOOM is tonight, so if you want to support a fantastic organization, or simply dance the night away to great music, check out KST’s website for more information.
