Swing in the New Year this weekend in Cincinnati

Step back in time to the Roaring 20s, the Dirty Thirties, and the Daring 40s to swing in the new year in style! Calling all bimbos and sailors, bearcats, flappers, and debs– birds of all kinds– make this New Year’s one to remember by dancing the night away at one of the many celebrations themed for this Age of Wonderful Nonsense. From delicious foods, fine champagne, swing dancing, and nonstop hits of the Jazz age, these events have it all! It’s the cat’s meow!

Before heading out to your roaring twenties celebration on Saturday, stop by the Cincinnati Art Museum for a little inspiration. The Betty Colker Collection, recently donated after more than half a century from vintage dealers around the world, represents the twenties era of fashion with beading, sequins, amazing embroidery, and bold art deco designs.

A Swingin’ New Year’s Eve at Music Hall

Join the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra as they make New Year’s come alive with a fun night of big band and broadway favorites. Located at 1241 Elm Street in historic Over-the-Rhine, Music Hall is 133 years old and has seen Cincinnati’s rich history through the events held there, including political debates and college sporting events as well as a seemingly endless list of musical and theatrical acts. After the concert, enjoy dancing, a silent auction, and a toast at midnight.

Grand Opening New Year’s Eve Bash at Boleros in NKY
December 31st from 9 PM- AM
Located at 8406 U.S. 42 in Florence, KY, this new latin and swing club is a perfect fit for the daring 1940s! At this grand opening event, you will enjoy hors d’oeuvres and a fully stocked bar. After hours of dancing, there will be a champagne toast at midnight to ring in the new year!

The Roaring Twenties New Year’s Eve at the Embassy Suites in Blue Ash
December 31st from 6:30 PM through 1 AM
If you are looking for a romantic and fun night out, look no further! Whether it’s the chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne at check in between 3-5 PM or the complimentary cooked to order breakfast before a late checkout on New Year’s Day, the Embassy Suites Roaring Twenties New Year’s Eve Party has it all. Cocktail hour, hors d’oeuvres, dinner in the ballroom, and a  DJ to help countdown the new year with champagne at midnight would typically complete an evening like this but it gets better! After this exciting night of dancing and romance, you and your significant other can go back to your own suite! The total for this entire package for two is $349.00.

New Year’s Eve Celebration aboard the Cincinnati Railway Dinner Train

Once you step foot on one of the three vintage traincars, you will feel as though you have slipped back into the 1940s, complete with all of it nostalgic glory. Sit comfortably and enjoy your dinner while watching the Cincinnati landscape breeze past. There are two options on Saturday– a earlier dinner ride from 6-9 PM and a special New Year’s Eve Celebration Train Ride from 10 PM- 1 AM.

     No matter which option you choose this Saturday evening, please be safe and do not drink and drive. There are many other options, including designated drivers, taking the bus, taking a cab, or just calling someone to come and pick you up. There will be police everywhere and checkpoints. You will get caught. Worse, you may kill yourself or someone else.
