Billboard 13: ”Fortune,” Atlantic City, NJ by Zoe Strauss Zoe Strauss: 10 Years at the Philadelphia Museum of Art is causing quite a stir in the city. Not only is there a beautifully curated retrospective, but located throughout Philadelphia are enormous billboard-sized photographs by Strauss. The project features 54 different billboards structured around the idea of the Odyssey. Strauss will also be working with the Philadelphia duo MegaWords on an installation at the PMA featuring a magazine edition created specifically for the exhibition. In addition, Strauss herself will be hosting “office hours” at the museum: just make an appointment and you can spend some time chatting with the artist herself. Strauss’ retrospective showcases both her immense talent as well as her strong ties to Philadelphia. She focuses on this city, training her on both on the decrepit and the beauty. In celebration of her exhibition and her point of view, the PMA is hosting a series of dance parties. It is clear that this exhibition is making itself heard. Zoe Strauss: 10 Years will be on view at the Philadelphia Museum of Art through 22 April 2012
