Boise was recently named one of the most underrated cities in the west by Life Magazine, and hosts a surprisingly active arts scene for a city of its size. Local artisans display their handiwork throughout Boise in the form of murals and installations, lending a distinctly cosmopolitan feel to the city. Several high-profile performing arts organizations are also centered here in Boise, including the Idaho Shakespeare Festival and Ballet Idaho.
