(June 1 – September 29, 2012) Despite its title, the Idaho Shakespeare Festival is not devoted exclusively to plays by the Bard; its repertory includes works from various dramatic periods and genres, and it also serves as an artistic home for emerging regional and national playwrights. Performances are given in a 760-seat, state-of-the-art amphitheater on the site of a habitat reserve that is home to a wide variety of plants and animals including deer, heron, ducks, geese, and the occasional fox. The William Shakespeare Park offers picnicking and river viewing areas; food and beverages are available at Café Shakespeare. ...more...

Each season, the Society puts on three subscription concerts featuring a diverse line-up of some of the best players around. Ballet Idaho reinvented itself in 2008 after dissolving a 14-year asset-sharing partnership with Eugene Ballet in Oregon. Starting almost from scratch, the company was quickly rebuilt with a new group of dancers and a new artistic director, Peter Anastos, most well-known as founding director of the hilariously gender-bending Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo. ...more...

Though it opened in 1984, the Morrison Center represents the fruits of a dream held by local philanthropist Harry Morrison since the late 1950s, to build a venue serving all the performing needs of the Boise community. Today the Morrison Center is the premiere performance venue in the state of Idaho.
