“The Entertainment Capital of the World” needs no introduction, but some advice never hurts. All the organizations recommended below offer a fine evening of cultural entertainment, and we strongly recommend them to all southern Nevada cultural arts enthusiasts. However, none of them are worth traveling several hundred miles or more to see – your hometown (or a nearer city) offers comparable opportunities.
So what should you do for entertainment when visiting Las Vegas? You need not ignore the arts, but you should focus on enjoying what the town is good at. Walk the Strip (which can take several days to fully explore, and is free), check out mega-hotels (also free), and enjoy the sun and warmth by also hanging out at a pool (usually free if you are staying in the hotel). Spend some bucks on the big shows, especially the ones that you would never get to see at home. In other words – enjoy Vegas for Vegas!
