Bargemusic

Founded in 1977 by Olga Bloom, Bargemusic is a distinctive chamber music series in large part due to its singular concert venue—a small barge dating back to 1899 and formerly used to transport coffee. Frick Collection Concerts

The Frick Collection Concerts—featuring various guest ensembles and soloists in recital—are designed to complement the museum collection and its featured exhibitions. The performances include a wide variety of classical music offerings, including works by such distinct composers as Dowland, Haydn, Chopin, Schubert, Janáček, Korngold, and Britten. ...more...

Metropolitan Museum Concerts

With eight different concert series to choose from, ranging the jazz and popular song standards to world music to exclusive piano recitals and new and classic entries in chamber music, the Metropolitan Museum’s set of programs is astonishing in the breadth and specificity of its offerings. A brief cross-section of concert programming includes Shostakovich string quartets, Sinatra songs, mariachi music, and Peking opera for younger audiences. ...more...

Peoples’ Symphony Concerts

If you only want to attend one performance, you don’t have a lot of options, ticketwise, and the seats in the Washington Irving High School gym can be incredibly uncomfortable. Still, nowhere else on earth are you going to be able to hear world-class musicians such as the Johannes String Quartet, the Parnas-Serkin Trio, Yefim Bronfman, and Richard Goode for less than $6 (if you buy a subscription) than at the People’s Symphony Concerts. ...more...

Works and Process Series at the Guggenheim

Since 1984 and in more than 300 productions, Works and Process at the Guggenheim has been a pioneer in creating groundbreaking and carefully crafted programs that provide unprecedented access to today’s leading performing artists, choreographers, composers, writers, directors, and poets. Each program blends performance, demonstration, and discussion among creative collaborators and explores the creative process. ...more...
