Atlanta’s self-labeled ‘Legend in Jazz’ has been around for over 25 years, and still today hosts some of the finest local talent as well as a number of national touring acts. It also serves as a place where young musicians are nurtured and discovered; every Wednesday Cafe 290 hosts a live talent show, ‘Who’s Got That Vibe!’, where audience members, celebrities and music industry figures alike determine the winners. The Cafe 290 boasts a long list of celebrity performers and clientele, and has been the setting for a number of movie and television shoots as well.

Jazz purists should note that many of Atlanta’s most notable jazz acts truly blur the lines between straight ahead jazz, funk and R&B. If you’re looking for something a little out of the ordinary, 290 might be the place to look. Well known for its cuisine as well, this venue is good for both dinner and a show, but expect at least a $10 cover on most nights.
